Masato forgot his birthday because he was so preoccupied wiht asashi and he says so himself hwne he realises its his birthday today
And then continued without even seeing ashahsi thta night and spend his birthday alone, so he doesn't distract adashi or anythimg,,, because he had to tell himself that everything is equally important
Whicch us really sad and really sucks
The next day they meet its the dya after his birthday, they meet at night, after the lresentstion
And I think asashi doesn't even know wjne masato birthday is,,, not actually forgot
Masato is so cute and precious an deserves better tbh,, he let this go and compromised because he knows asashi is busy and stuff and doesn't want to be the person who gets in the way of his lovers success
ah thanks for clarifying! regardless both were really pre-occupied and as you said earlier, masato said that the least he could do was to not bother asahi while he was working on a really important project. what should he have done instead? he knew how much the project meant to asahi. anyways, masato also did those things and stepped back because he loves and cares for asahi who was the one who “saved” him when he was suffering alone. i think asahi could do better in terms of spoiling masato but asahi himself has said he loves to be spoiled, and masato loves to spoil him... relationships don’t always have to be a solid 50/50 and ppl tabulate how much love/affection they give and receive

i know asahi forgot masato’s birthday and his gift (which Booooo that stinks) but masato himself forgot and met up with asahi at the bar bc they were celebrating his competition win and they drank and cuddled afterwards. so like... they still got to be together but yea it does suck that asahi forgot, i wonder if masato will make a big deal out of it or not tho....
