I can understand why he did tho. The Emperor is a bully and pressures others to get what he wants, so he is forcing them together by steadily calling the Duke to the palace and forcing him to accompany his daughter. Maria, on the other hand, is relatively innocent in all this and the Duke has no reason to dislike her. I feel kinda bad for sir it all sounds burdensome.(●￣(ｴ)￣●)

That Duke irritates me! Break off the engagement if he can’t help but accompany other woman. It still counts as cheating and Ayne becomes the subject of public ridicule.
