Actually I have the same opinion. It pains me that Homura slept with another to forget and feel good about himself. I feel bad for Kyouya for being used, although he himself my not consider it like that as he was so in love as well. Touji on the other hand wanted to resolve things that may worry Homura given they are from different and maybe a rival group. Now that I am an adult I can't say I can justify cheating, rather I see things in another perspective. If you've watched "Friends" does the story of Rachel and Ross come to mind? Can we really blame Ross at that moment?
The fact that Homura was told that Touji himself proposed and confirmed it justifies Homura ignoring him. Touji was the one that decided to do this without informing him so how was Homura supposed to know it wasn't real.
I base this opinion on the fact that I was in a similar situation where there was a miscommunication in my relationship and I got so pissed off that I didn't want to talk to them ever again so I refused to answer their call so his actions made total sense. At that point I thought that our relationship was over since it seemed like they cheated on me.
I also kept somebody close to me who I knew liked me during the "break up" because it made me feel better.
(I didn't go as far to sleep with the person but they weren't as persistent as Kyouya)
So he thought the relationship was over and Touji even when he found out what happened didn't try to correct Homura so it can't be considered cheating.
If anything you can feel bad for Kyouya if you want since Homura used him but in my opinion how obsessive Kyouya was he was asking for it and I have no sympathy for him. I think he understood as well since he bowed out so easily at the end there instead of making a huge fuss about being used.
Regarding Homura's other actions I personally understand cuz I kind of relate to the anxiety and relationship especially when somebody that you love.
when you really love somebody it already clouds your judgment and when you have anxiety due to other factors like he did with the groups and it just made it harder for him to accept the love Touji was giving.
It's really interesting because I read this 10 years ago and I remember also getting really annoyed about the whole situation and how Homura slept with someone else but obviously after 10 years and experiencing relationships as well as love I really relate to Homura and really enjoyed the whole story now.
It's really interesting how your views changed the older you get when it comes to reading these types of books.
Sorry for long rant. Lol
