Obviously not everyone kisses their friends with benefits, but some people do. Kissing can be a normal part of sex with a romantic partner or not. Technically, you can kiss anyone with the power of consent.
Also the polyamorous relationship part. He may not be in a relationship relationship but he’s in a fuck buddy relationship, that’s what I meant in my answer. And since he has multiple partners, either interchangeably or several at a time, that basically means he’s in a polyamorous relationship. And when I said open relationship I meant that he’s open to be with anyone and all his partners seem to know and understand that so far.
Also I get what you mean with the insincerity in fucking someone while pursuing someone else, but who said anything about love? Most likely in this story the doc dude will fall in love with the bottom dude cause that’s how it is, but right now he’s looking to spice up his life as far as I can see.

Oh my god, you are not the only one. What in the world is everyone wailing about, it’s irritating. The doc is more interesting because of the fwb /polyamory / player dimension. Kissing, not kissing, whatever, it really doesn’t require a lot of analysis or judgment. Ftr I like the friends, too.

Doc is also understanding and can hold conversations even if it’s an uncomfortable topic which we know is VERY rare when it comes to BL tops/doms.
