I think the mangaka said at some note page or something that she wanted to show how ppl become strange when in love. I liked it honestly, BECAUSE it was twisted, but definitely nowhere near relationship goals or to be taken seriously. Also, just chill, when you get over the stage where yaoi you read can make you feel disturbed you are at the point where you can truly enjoy yaoi imo (just don't read every yaoi in your disposal to get there lol)

I think that as long as it's clear that the manga doesn't take itself seriously I don't mind that type of stuff. In this case I would say it made the effort to be more "relatable" to reality but it was still quite different from actual reality so I didn't care ¯_(ツ)_/¯
