A wyvern is a subspecies of dragon. Like how a pug is a subspecies of dog. The FL was correct.
Depends on what lore and how strictly you are following guidelines. Some classify them as a type of dragon, but when you really look at mythology they are closely related to dragons, while not actually being one. Like how hyenas are closely related to cats but they are not actually cats.
Yes but a lot of east asian rpg/western-centric fantasy type works have wyverns as a type of dragon. Like how kobolds are german fairies that help with household chores but kobolds in asian fantasies tend to be doglike monsters. So since this lore is dependent on that east asian rpg/western-centric fantasy narrative, I would say it's safe to say that she was correct in calling it a wyvern (for this world's lore). But in the end, that all depends on what this world's lore is.
