Excuse me but...seungho literally had no reason to believe Nakyum DIDN'T run away. And he didn't let him see his sister because he thought she was the one who was helping him run away from him. His actions might seem crazy to you but they're consistent with his character..please do pay attention to the story and not just the "crazy" parts
He was repeating what nakyum said to him after in hun called him a whore and he decided to be one - "We're just two bodies and nothing more" "I like you because I like being fucked by you like this" - seungho confessed his feelings, nakyum ran away anyway in his eyes, so he's like "ok then you just wanna be fuck buddies, lets be fuck buddies"
He didn't have to rape him, but he isn't a dumbass for not figuring out he was KIDNAPPED. Which was my initial point. He had all the evidence and his past behaviour and his sisters appearance and nakyim"a own confession (as forced as it was) that he did run away. Nakyum was and is the dumbass whether you like it or not. And I know BLAH BLAH he was traumatized, he was kidnapped...doesn't matter.
Both the doctor and mr. Kim told him there were evidences the boy didn't escape. Nakyum told him several times, and tbh I still don't understand how he didn't noticed the bruises or even the footprints on the snow when Nakyum has been kidnapped. Also the kisaeng should have been pretty stupid to go to his house if they were plotting an escape
I don't think he was in the mindset to believe anyone including nakyum... not excusing him but that's just how his character has been written. Not to mention nakyum had run away a lot of times before but then gave up. It's so messed up but yeah.
The footprints and him taking his coat with him, most of seungho thought he was disturbed enough to run away when he confessed his feelings (like he thought he would) so I think he was most upset about THAT than the fact that nakyum ran away. I think he's punishing himself for being vulnerable by punishing nakyum but that's just a personal opinion as a reader - seeing how much he was blaming himself when he was forcefully having sex with him. Idk...
To us it is plain as day, but if I were in his shoes and in his mental state, I wouldn't think twice that he could be KIDNAPPED and would logically assume with the overwhelming evidence that he did run away AGAIN successfully since seungho was physically and emotionally broken down at the time.
COUPLE THINGS (๑❛ㅂ❛)و✧...
1) Seungho is crazy as H€LL as I said before! You fans get in your feelings for these characters and want to justify unacceptable behavior whenever someone expresses an opinion that’s adverse to yours! Am I not allowed to have a point of view that conveys my intellectual thought w/o being relegated to someone who “isn’t paying attention to the story”...? Ridiculous (╬︶﹏︶)
2) Are you intimating that Seungho’s actions are justified b/c he “literally believed” Nakyum ran away? What kind of trip are you on? Is Nakyum a prisoner or a pet? You think by saying his “actions are consistent with his character” makes it excusable or rationalized? Maybe you should go back and read what kind of character you’re diligently defending: (direct quote) “a hell-raiser notorious for his insatiable lust, barges into his life, “forces Nakyum” to become his private painter, etc...” You don’t think his insane behavior is a major issue in the story? Am I really the one who missed something or am I simply echoing what the author intends to emphasize about Seungho’s character? (ꏿ︿ꏿ ”)
Furthermore, I guess you’re implying that I shouldn’t take into consideration how Seungho literally rapes Nakyum whenever, however, wherever he feels like it, not to mention his evil intentions for the boy’s sister when she discovered her brother was being confined in Seungho’s home! Please tell me that’s not what you mean! #︶︿︶) If so, you must be wearing rose-colored glasses and need to actually read the story without blinders. That way, you can be sensible like other readers to see the characters for whom they’re portrayed to be, not what we simply fantasize & aggrandize about them!
3) If Seungho used his ears for more than listening to the boy’s sex moans, then he would have paid attention to Nakyum saying/insisting he didn’t try to run away! Ignoring him is no excuse for not knowing! Heck, the doctor even described his physical state and implied that he didn’t appear to have voluntarily ran away! So, I ask: “Am I the one not paying attention and focusing just on the “crazy parts” or are Seungho and his devout followers hearing/reading, respectively, what they want to hear/read? If the message is missed , it’s definitely not on my part! ╥ °﹏° ╥
4) I will reiterate: With everything that has happened, whoever is shipping these two together are as daft as the lust-crazed seme! Although these stories are written for entertainment, some people can read without romanticizing bad deeds because the ML is hot (I mean really Hot ) and we can keep an open mind while seeing both sides of the coin. In contrast, other readers close a blind eye to the machinations of a dominant, licentious ML, overlooking his toxic & bad behavior, and they continue to defend and justify his actions despite the victims’ woes! It doesn’t matter if Seungho didn’t know the truth; it does matter, however, that he didn’t give a crap about what Nakyum had to say regardless of whether the boy was being truthful or not (╬ • ⌒• ), and he certainly didn’t care about the boy’s pleas for mercy and forgiveness!
Seriously, you’re highly mistaken if you think I’m NOT paying attention to the friggin’ story, rather just focusing on the crazy parts! It’s a fallacy that people whose opinions differ from yours are “not paying attention to the story and just the "crazy" parts”... Yeah, we are! It’s just that you see a glass half-empty, and I see a glass with water irrespective of how much is in it... in other words: seeing the big picture! (▰˘◡˘▰)
I’m a passionate, long-winded kind of girl, so send me a message if you want to continue discussing your POV versus mine! Surely the other readers are thinking: “Is she writing a school essay!?!” LOL
LOVE, PEACE & HAIR GREASE
The fact that you think you can judge people for shipping two fictional characters together...and not think you're being a control freak is beyond me?? You went so far as to call them CRAZY???
Why in the hell does it indicate that you're JUSTIFYING Seungho's raping when you're simply pointing out the OBVIOUS reveals of the plot points and the character developments or lack thereof??? I'm not saying what he did was RIGHT, but that doesn't mean it fell out of the fucking sky????
This is NOT a romance fluffy bl. And it will never be one. How tf do people have expectation from this since it has been a psychological nightmare from the start?
They revel in such "filth" and then hate the story and characters while continuously reading it???
Why would seungho believe anything anyone says in the mindset he was in?? This is why you pay attention to the story and not fucking scream "rape rape rape" every chapter.
While he was "raping"him, did you even pay attention to what he was thinking at the time??? You must have been distracted by the rape
It would make sense to the character if
1) we didn't know he is a good hunter and he should have recognised the footprints on the snow were too big and deep for being Nakyum's (the circumstances for the kidnapping are actually unclear, it's clear the author didn't think about it, all of this is so stupid that i can't even)
2) He had time to rationalise. The author even showed him alone reflecting about what?
3) A lot of evidence and people were against the idea of kidnapping. Of course the author makes the bruises on Nakyum's wrists and face disappear and appear at the convenient time, like the PTSD.
4) He believed the word of the most untrustworthy man around (speaking of which, it's so forceful the first thing he thought when he heard Nakyum escaped was that Jihwa released him )
All in all, I don't care. I only see bad writing, bad characters and forced misunderstandings for the sake of drama. I am not against people shipping them, I am honestly bothered that someone can think this shit is well written lmao
RIGHT BACK AT YOU! Rape, rape, rape... Seriously, I guess it’s so normalized for you until it doesn’t bother you in the least bit, and you probably think it’s some twisted form of love! Heck, read what you just wrote and tell me there isn’t something wrong with the way you’ve made it seem as though rape is a minor factor in the story b/c Seungho’s character is still developing! While you’re at it, tell the author to rephrase the synopsis so readers won’t confuse Seungho as a rapist, but more so as one who’s learning about his feelings and will eventually become shippable with the helpless uke! Me being distracted by rape, maybe/maybe not, but at least I’m not turning a blind eye to it either! (︶︿︶) I’m neither overly focused on it nor am I oblivious enough to omit it in my thinking when I reflect on the story! So, when you psychoanalyze me, be sure to take that into account!
I never said I didn’t like stories like this! But... there’s always a but... it’s my prerogative to ship the MCs or choose not to... no judgy if you do!! Almost every story I’ve read has some form of sexual deviance... be it man, woman, or gender neutral... and I’ve seen better reformed behaviors than Seungho’s! That’s my OPINION! You do you and I’ll do the same! #-︿-)
Your conjectures have no basis to deduce what I read, like, think, etc.; instead, it’s your own opinion about people who disagree with you that is truly flawed! Moreover, I didn’t point out the plots, rather I quoted the author, so you’re basically saying he/she’s wrong in his/her emphasis about Seungho’s character! Maybe you should have written this story and dictated how readers should perceive him... yeah, do that then get back with me! ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
BTW... Your vulgarity is unnecessary and pointless, but I guess you’re having a bad day and your sensibility & wits are on vacation! If this conversation has been relegated to a cursing contest, then just don’t comment on my thread! Instead of keeping it civil, you just had to be ill-mannered at your attempt to be offensive! But why?... it’s rhetoric so don’t respond! ( ̄∇ ̄")
The fact that you think people, whose opinions are different from yours, don’t pay attention is just as ludicrous! It’s ignorance, at best, and just plain old dumb on normal days! So, stop with the unfriendly banter, and let’s agree to disagree and call it a friggin’ day!
If you write this constructive criticism of the plot, which I agree with, then I wouldn't have a problem. But you obviously didn't before. Bashing on the characters for doing or knowing things out of their control is so illogical?? You changed tracks here pretty quick but it took you long enough.
The debate should be about the story, not just the rape in it or the "rapist" in it.
About you not paying attention to the story, is said not because blah blah but because if you did, you'd know that everything he said or did had a reason (whether you approve of it or not) you choose to ignore it because it is "unacceptable" lol. Imagine thinking you are superior to a fictional character for not figuring out obvious shit just because you know the events that they weren't privy to...lol are you right in the head.
The message is as clear as before - if you hate it, you don't need to read it. No need to read a story with a rapist and etc. Otherwise your moral standing is just hypocritical.
Sorry but I saw you saying Nakyum is a dumbass (which I may agree with for other reasons) but I bash on the characters? lmao
I told you why all this stupid misunderstanding was forced from the start, it's just bad writing, not Seungho being coherent to his character. Seungho was showed as a very intelligent and observant person, but all of a sudden, he is not able to get obvious clues. If all this happened all of a sudden during a temper tantrum, it would be more logical to feel betrayed and acting impulsively. But the author showed how he even reflected by himself when Nakyum was closed in the barn. Mr. Kim and the doctor tried to convince him there were evidences that Nakyum didn't escape, but he dismissed them. The bruises on NK's wrists disappeared for plot convenience, and reappeared at the right time (also NK's wrist had already bruises because of the servant hurting him and Seungho forcing him to paint tbh)
My complains are about usually rational people acting illogically for plot convenience About this matter I could complain about the assassin too. There was no point to kidnap Nakyum if his purpose was to make Jihwa giving up the plan. Why does he care about the morals of a noble who thinks people like him are subhumans whose lives don't matter? He killed the servant Deok-Jae without regret and put Nakyum in a dire situation only to cover a noble. This doesn't make sense with his character.
You’re just an illiterate idiot with a bad mouth, lack of courtesy, and being a text thug on this forum! JUST AS I THOUGHT: “All of your intelligence was used on your first response, so now you’re just pulling insults out of the hat!” (⌒▽⌒) Being sacrilegious (using JC) at this point won’t be of much help to you, so get lost LOSER! (▰˘◡˘▰)
Whoever is shipping Nakyum with Seungho is CRAY CRAY! (づ ꏿ︿ꏿ)づ That psycho seme doesn’t deserve a sweet uke like him!! He’s just too cruel with his methods and alpha male obsession to own and control the lad’s every move... not even wanting his sister to see him! WTH ( °﹏° ╬)
Alas, it was obvious Mr. No Name threatened Nakyum, but I’m glad the lookie-loo orgy guy said something; otherwise, Seungho may never know the truth and would have imprisoned the boy for life! Now, I’m ready to see him unleash his insanity & wrath on that sniveling sissy Jihwa; he deserves Seungho b/c their both crazy as H€LL.
