The last pic is my favorite gesture and nonverbal communication. Asami and Aki show their emotions to one another through their eyes contact, hands gesture and body posture.

The significant "Asami-kiss". These appear to be triggered when Asami is being hit with strong emotions at that moment. They are never given out casually. A great deal of these occur when Asami is concerned or worried about Akihito. As this happens A LOT, I won't link to them. Just pick a chapter, lol.

I also like Asami's response when Akihito is the one to initiate the kiss first. He seems to be somewhat amazed and he contently submits to Akihito:

My favorite gesture obviously include when Asami ruffles Aki's head every time. Its as you said, its empathy.

This moment, where we saw how Asami used to live and how Aki changed his life. Asami acknowledges that he feels happy with Aki. The whole extra, I love it.

The moment where he kills off the man who took Aki and gave to Mikhail, he blasts that man with such intensity. When Aki talked with Asami on phone, the desperation in his voice and his feelings reached Asami. As it was mentioned, its only Asami who can change Aki and no one else.

The moment where Aki tries to take the lead in one of extras, and Asami lets him even if it was for just a moment. It made it seem like Asami feels comfortable and safe with Aki.

The moment where Aki says 'if they die, they will die together'.

And there are just so many moments.....

I did click through all of those and noticed there's a progression to that gesture. Akihito very often doesn't appreciate it, to the point of telling Asami to stop. But then there's that last one, where he accepts the gesture, like a wild animal that has slowly been gentled. And then one more time:

A couple of chapters ago, he wouldn't have accepted it so calmly, especially in such a situation. Now I think it shows how Akihito has grown into the relationship that he doesn't take the gesture as Asami treating him as a kid but as a mark of Asami's feelings for him. He finally gets it!

He's done this before but I can't remember where at the moment. It's ridiculously adorable.

It's harder to think of marked, repeated gestures for Akihito. He does touch Asami's face from time to time in an exploratory kind of way but for the most part, I think it's Akihito's eyes that generate most of his body language.

The eyes have it - Yamane sensei seems to be able to convey so much through their eyes, and it all starts when Fei is shooting at Akihito, and Asami glances back protectively at Akihito.

i agree. i love the hair ruffling, and that a lot of there feeling are expressed with their eyes. i especially love that from the start to the end, the way their sex scenes just kind of mellow out. i don't really know how to explain it, just you feel each of them being more open each time they had sex, and just change from the act, to them actually expressing their desires. and an akihiko gesture i LOVE is that he always semi-cuddles into asami after and during sex sometimes.

I think that "the reading made by Asami in Akihito's eyes" is one of the strategy adopted by Asami to seduce Aki and to know how far he can go with Akihito or what he can say according to Aki's mood.
