Yet again something that the translations are not clear about. Jin Lin is adopted and the MC, Jin Chuan, is the only biological son of their parents. So they are not related by blood at all. Hope this clears up your misunderstanding.
... i definitely don't want the mc to end up with his brother cause they're real brothers but... he's so my type it hurts T-T
