All in all. Translators should stop. Let's wait for the legal translation. The number of people that reads it in English compare to other languages is much. We can respect the author by waiting for legal translation. We will be only doing one wrong by reading it after legal translation has been uploaded.
I understand, but you know that unofficial korean sites upload the chapters THE SAME DAY the official sites release them? Some people can try and be good and help the author by waiting and buying the official chapters, but we're just part of the problem. Plus, there's so many countries that have no access to the chapters because the stories simply don't exists in their language.
Myself, I buy chapters whenever I can. Because I do enjoy a clean translation, but I'm currently reading around 50 manga and manwha. You can understand that as an adult with many things to pay i don't have that much money to spend in so many stories. Not to mention that some sites are actually expensive. So, these sites help a lot to a lot of people. I'm not encouraging piracy, but it IS a helpful evil.
i mean for me, once its available legally, even if u dont buy chpts urself at least go like give likes and spread around the official translation with links to where it can be bought? like make an Attempt even if ur gonna pirate or read pirated content anyway. i guess idg going thru the difficulty and time of translating smth someone else is already translating but unlike you (the fan translator not you specifically) are actually getting paid for their work. it makes sense to do it when its something u love and want to share but most people cant access it cause its hard to access internationally or its not in english/spanish etc. esp when and this isnt a dig at this specific translation group but in general. alot of these webtoon fangroup translators dont even buy raws? they use crappy ripped images off of korean pirate sites. so even if i wanted to read for free i would just go look for uploads of the legal translations cause those have better cleaner images, more consistency since its the same paid translator(s) for that content vs a piece of work going thru several translation groups or translators within that group who come and go and ofc alot of fan translations are helped via machine translation or made by people whose competancy in one of the languages (either one they are translating from or into) is just not that strong. so like if a person has NO other options well ok but if u do...why read fangroup stuff? why as a fangroup or single person waste energy on a work that is alrdy being translated (by people bein paid!)...idk, im not interesting in shaming anybody on a pirate site i also use but it does baffle me tbh. (also i keep saying this but lezhin gives out free coins and points, so its worth it to log in everyday and then use ur freebies accordingly)
It's really sad that toxic people come here to preach morals and shit when we all know why these sites are for. The raws are still available unofficially in many korean platforms and spanish translators, often several teams at the same time, translate the same manwha and no team fight one another for "rights over translation" this is something i see only on english sites. Well, if any of you understand korean or spanish look for the chapters on those sites. Less drama. Still, thanks for translating to this point. I keep coming to mangago because english is my favorite language to read, but I can read in spanish, korean, japanese, french and portuguese and we often have russian chapters available too. Sad for the people who only read english and have no way of knowing how the stories end.
