She don't need to be nice. What i want to say is she came to rose asking for apology and also tryng to reform her and try to change or convince her to give up so she will avoid her doom but on how she approach rose is really bad. She must know rose is already twisted because she read the book and she know the story. So can't she come up with better ideas how to convince her instead of heading straight and saying those words to trigger rose more??? Its just asking rose to do more bad things. Rose is a villain she must know already she is beyond redemption when she was push on the boat but know blindly approach her and say those words. She lack tact and her EQ is so low can't she understand whats happening why rose did those???
Honestly I can't really see why she needs to state her feelings and opinion in such roundabout way, especially to Rose. I just don't get why should people hate the way she acted against Rose.
Ripley might seem cocky, but then again she has the right to do so especially since Rose had attempted to harm Ripley, and even more so that she's with the duke.
She wasn't born an aristocrat, so of course she wouldn't aware of what she said would hurt another aristocrat's pride, especially ones like Rose. Also she is speaking in a reader's point of view when she was speaking to Rose.
Like, what could've she said in that moment? Having her knowledge of the novel, what could she said to Rose?
Her acting cocky in front of Rose kinda off putting since her character should not be bend that way i dunno if its me but my initial impression is that cockiness is not part of her characteristic. Also remember her past being misjudge and bullied when she got in those accusations back in her real world. Have put her rooted in not stealing others partner (duke and etoile), thats why she is always careful in her interactions with the duke and also etoile. thats why her past action might seem extreme and stupid but have indept reason so it made the reader accept her and it also gave flesh to her characteristic which is beautifully portrayed. But her coming to rose and saying those thing are kinda meh. When she came to Rose she did not say directly that she is going out with the duke because she know it will riled up Rose and make it worse but She is a reader as you said and so she know Rose characteristics. she don't need to know aristocracy she just need and applied what she know in the book about rose so her approach towards rose won't backfire and made rose riled up.
Well its Just my thoughts. This is kinda spoiler but due to this action of ripley... Rose characteristics blacken real fast. Well we can say that this part where ripley acted stupid push forward the story in making her completely take etoile's role. Riling up Rose and fully Blackening Rose... so ill come back when rose start her lunacy.

Rose will always go to the path of the villainess, whether it was delayed or hastened it doesn't matter. Ripley is already the female lead since she's chosen by the duke on their first night. She had already taken Etoire's place on that day lol.
Ripley is an eccentric person. Her being a little bit cocky is part of the eccentricity. I mean, there was a scene where she thought the 2nd male lead was into her lol. During the confrontation she was cocky at that time yeah, but she had the best of intention. Her intentions are always based on what she felt right. Can't fault her for that.
Hmmm I'd say I quite like her because it's been a long long yime since I've come across an FL rhat straightforwardly tells the ML she loves him.
I do feel she lacks tact and insight, and her words were very careless and did nothing to help the situation with Rose.
And I agree. She should be pushing 2nd ML towards E instead of testing the poor duke's patience.
Also the duke (=・ω・=) he's so surprisingly sweet?? And nice???? And considerate????? and gentle?????? I get attaching yourself to the first person that's nice to you is... errr... unhealthy, but since it's her, all's well that ends well, right? At least that's what i thought before, now I'm starting to pity the guy. The dude needs hugs, affection and some gradua talking to and learning about mental health, survivor's guilt etc. to slowly beocme better.

Yes~ Ripley attitude is quite refreshing at first. Its funny and dynamic it make the story colorful. But after she and the duke relation got better and be in the same page I can't help but expect that she would be considerate of the duke more than ever and do her best to return the dukes affection a little bit as repayment from all her reckless antics from when she was still avoiding the duke. Especially what happened to her before in korea, make me expect that she would be conscious enough of her partner and reflect her own actions. Cause usually when a person is subjected to such hurtful occasions it made them conscious of all their actions and made them see more between the lines. (￣∇￣")
The dukes affection can be viewed as unhealthy bordering obsession Σ( ￣□￣||) and if Ripley continues action of testing the duke's limit will happen all the time. We can see the dukes emotions going all roller coaster. Thankfully, the duke is sane enough and have control to himself thus avoiding bad end unlike other story. since the story is very light hearted aside from Rose case I guess we can just let it be. Tho some parts can be handled the other way. Let's just trust the author ~ ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
Ripley is getting annoying these past chapters. At first it is bearable and understandable because of her fear in the story but after the resolution and make up with the duke she become a whole ass annoying btch. Especially her confronting Rose there is a way better approach and words to say. But all she done is spat in her face and riled her up. She fcking dumb in that part. Even i would hate her if she spat those words infront of my face given that we don't even close and I hate her. She just make it worse. Oh right PLOT. shitty PLOT. and now her plan. Is she dumb??? She should use the 2nd male lead to act as the lover of etoile instead of the duke. Because remember you tryng to match him to etoile. So development can happen in etoile and 2nd ML love. So you will have clear conscience for going out with the duke. Her idea is dumb. Imma leave it for a couple of chapters. I love this story but she is getting on my nerves these past chapters.
