from what i remember, in light novel jinshi is also in overseas with maomao and her adopted brother (her cousin) and jinshi real mother ah duo ( i think he still didn't know at this point) would like him to pick a someone to marry (obviously he choose maomao). In overseas there was more scenes were jinshi really confronted maomao that he would to marry her (he force kiss her and lol she did give it back kissing him deep and ended the scene like not a big deal at all). The "I won't hand out my daugther" is from web novel and jinshi didnt follow maomao overseas and no kissing happens (from what i remember so correct if im wrong). From manga storyline the story will follow the light novel (so expect kissing soon yiee (⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ) , and also in webnovel maomao mother died and in light novel she survive and ended marrying rakan by buying her even in her current state

Lol ye this is totally hilarious I just remembered this part, Iove her character that's her charm. Im really glad the light novel has more jinshi x maomao interractions, romance, and twisted plot compared to web novel (im still waiting for updates though but hope they will end up since jinshi did something that maomao cant escape in light novel) and ofcourse it would still better if maomao chose to marry him in her own will not just that he force her to
Oh i just remembered ^from what u said earlier, they did kiss in the web novel (≧∀≦). i think the part u are saying where jinshi forced kiss maomao and afterwards maomao kissed him back and act like nothing, IT happened too in web novel. I think that was the time jinshi figured out his feelings towards maomao (he give maomao a love letter and jinshi starts reading a lot of novels).
