It's not that he didn't get a back story is that we want to know more about his childhood and what exactly happened to his parents and how he survived on his own while being in the streets
oh im mainly talking abt ppl acting like he he had no motivation and that all he did was win the wrestling matches
...but his type of character is common in a lot of action or sports anime and manga...and I'm seriously ngl if you have read or watched a lot of these, you could probably guess what type of childhood or backstory they have.

y'all acting like Yu has no thought or no preferences like were you not paying attention? im genuinely mad abt that. i feel like i was the only one who actually knew he had development and like a backstory. thats why i dont read the comments everyone here is toxicly biased
