My understanding is that the mother died, the guy who stabbed her is in jail—still in love with him, the "sugar daddy" ended up being his legal guardian but they still fuck n shit but from the looks of it he doesn't seem happy, like at all so overall I think he mostly has just been overwhelmed by the guilt he now excepts the abusive relationship thinking he deserves it.
