I think he got traumatized from when he was a kid to think that doing ballet is considered uncool or not manly and him thinking that girl likes him is just for comedy and if it wasn’t in there them the entire story would just be about ballet and it would get boring

Not really, any theme (in this case) ballet, could be easily make a whole manga, just taking the roughly process of doing something banned of your life, is totally tough, psychologically talking, mc can make such a good story if we take his feelings and traumas and then finally taking his freedom back. Well, most seinen manga take themes from this point of view (more focus on own sentimentality and society judgement, and less on juvenile romance).
But, that's just my opinion.
i would be delighted if he was into ballet not just for a girl and thinkin' the girl is in love with him ??? man, im gonna pray for development (and prioritize) his love with ballet and fighting his traumas and society judgement, not just high school heterosexual love ??? too boring(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
