idk how much of the story you read but: they met when they were 16 cause of their parents marrying. their parents divorced after 3 years so they were only step-bros for 3 years. The story takes place 7 years after the divorce, and their parents dont end up getting remarried or anything. Even tho theyre not step-bros anymore, the parents do create conflict, since they dont want joowon & haesoo to be together... due to their past taboo.
Taku finds someone else in the future (when theres a timeskip around the end), and he looks perfectly happy~
