Wow, i had such high hopes for this manhwa, i thought here we have complicated characters, interesting storyline, great art, this must be a masterpiece, 60+ chapters i know i was mistaken, maybe this story started with an idea but im starting to believe the author lost whatever plot progress they had somewhere along the line, they got in too deep with enforcing this abuse type of plot that they completely erased any kind of realistic and believable traits of these characters, they r now an abuser and an idiot, and nothing more, its ridiculous, these r mere shadows of what they could have been if the author spent time developing their personalities rather then getting lost in this cycle of never ending love hate drama that at this point makes no sense, no one can relate or sympathise with characters that r so 1 dimensional and so over the top absurd, their actions r frustrating cause they r not human, they r mere satires of violence and stupidity, this is an overkill, and honestly it's not worth it anymore :/

the author had initially wanted POTN to be far more abusive and unstable, but they still toned it down for the sake of their fans. now it looks like they're writing the story the way that they want it to. considering your reaction to that, i suggest you stop reading this and find something more to your taste. i trust that byeonduck will pull through for her readers somehow despite the fact that season 2 has been extremely difficult to read.

I have nothing against violence and abuse in these manwhas, when done right stories like that can be so real and so gripping, in fact some of my most enjoyed manwhas depict some sort of an over the top abusive relationship, killing stalking, stigma, warehouse and more r all manhwas i rated above 9... i rate under 3 criterias, the uniqueness and consistence of the plotlines, depiction and development of characters and art style, this manhwa checked all my boxes at first, now I'd feel guilty for giving it a rating above 5,the characters r stripped of any human like sense to them, and not as in being good people but being human as in acting under more than just 1 set of emotion, and the plot rather than having a clear course of development, is now a cycle of the same 2 events repeating, something happens, rape,... it's basically a cartoonish depiction of some villian/crying princess dynamic, and it's not even entertaining, i gave the author the benefit of the doubt saying they lost their way but if this is actually what they wanted and how they saw this story going than i take it back, 60+ chapters is more than enough to build up characters and make a development

I totally get what you're saying, epsecially considering how frustrating the story currently is, but in some aspects I disagree. There are authors who choose to make their manhwas over 100+ chapters long, so they usually take longer to develop. Byeonduck wants to write a long story riddled with angst and mental/physical obstacles between the two leads to tell this story the way that she wants it, this is turn guarantees us a longer and more complex storyline to POTN, although readers can collectively agree that there is a bunch of unfavorable aspects to the story- one being the amount of rape that there is in the story. You said that Byeonduck erased the realistic/believable traits of her characters... but she hasn't at all. Keep in mind that it is also harder for us to try to relate to these characters given their time period and their social statuses. Her characters stay true to their personalities and traits, and that in turn does make them realistic as well. It wouldn't have made sense for a character especially like Seungho to easily believe Nakyum off the bat and decide to go kill Jihwa or whatever out of retaliation so that the two can live happily ever after. That would be unrealistic and very easy for Byeonduck to write. Nakyum did not choose to tell Seungho the truth out of fear for his life. He lied. That alone sounds like something he'd do out of fear, and even if he were to tell the truth, 100% Seungho's mentally unstable gay dumbass wouldve still refused to believe him because he was too hellbent on accusing Nakyum of leaving him to open his eyes. Sadly he most likely would've just subjected Nakyum to a more severe rape session for "making up an absurd lie". Seungho isn't exactly supposed to be the most relatable character (at least not to mentally stable readers). He is an obsessive abusive rapist (and murderer) that is riddled with trauma and mental illness. (Very likely sexual trauma in his childhood, given his behavior) People like him exist, sadly. In a sense, he's quite realistic, but it's hard to believe that because he sure does go about things in the worst possible ways. I'm not trying to jusify any of the taboo aspects of POTN nor am at all I saying that Seungho's trauma justifies all the god awful shit he's done to Nakyum- but the characters are quite realistic and true to themselves. I had started reading POTN under the impression that Seungho and Nakyum would automatically end up together, but I had to slip out of that belief in order to read the story for what it is regardless of the outcome we receive.
