It's not really a spoiler but so far we know that there's multiple contributing factors. The father was subjected abuse as a child and was constantly told to put the family name first since it was his duty. This caused the father to push some of these ideals onto Nora (minus the physical abuse) and also caused the father to struggle with expressing his affection. The previous empress'(?) dying wish was for them to look after the prince and the father thought that it was his duty as to not shame the family. He prioritized the prince, neglected Nora, yet also pushed his ideals onto Nora, and when we combine that with his inability to express himself we can see how they gradually grew further and further apart. The father was too awkward and prideful to fix their relationship before now. There may be other factors that I'm forgetting but I feel like I hit some of the main ones.
Can someone spoil me on why Nora's father abuses him? I just wanna know and hope they end up having a better relationship..
