it’s honestly getting to the point where i’m having like no hope for anything to happen. every chapter is getting more like sad yo read and i feel hopeless for the mc

    That's sounds like development to me. Not all character development goes to goodness. Some go to even more cruel acts they didn't do b4. Like, tying NK up and threatening to kill his family.
