First some of these details are wrong. He had nothing to do with the death of linden’s family. They were incarcerated and made the stupid choice to commit suicide. No one forced them to do it and the emperor, Her Husband said he would try to help her get cleared. She was incarcerated for days that’s it not weeks or months, DAYS!! She also killed her daughter but your gonna pin all that on Mil. How about you hold her accountable for her own actions. Secondly he is loyal to his mother. It’s obvious that he is struggling with picking loyalty to his mom or love for his brother and Elise. He’s not a “Selfish bastard” he doesn’t even want the crown. He wants his mom to get her sanity back and the only way he knows how to do that is getting her the spot and title she always wanted. He is literally being selfless by giving up everything he wants/has to make her happy. He is giving up his freedom, Elise, his brother. And please don’t forget that Linden wants to kill Mil too.
Finally someone with sense. I feel so bad for mil.. you could see all his dilemma and suffering. Granted the era, it was normal for them to kill one another. I'm sure if it was mil and if he could chase his own happiness, he'd yeet himself the fuck out of there and go travelling. I really hope he come to his senses and fight for his own happiness instead of moving for others

I don't know why all of you are crying because my blood is boiling. He killed Linden's fucking family and now he's trying to kill him too just so he doesn't have to pay for his sins. He has some remorse but clearly not enough, and if he really loved Elise he'd rather die than kill the love of her life. He's just a selfish bastard...
