Maybe I have read too much yaoi, but I think this is pretty complex, I agree sou-chan is a selfich asshole but I don't think he does it because he wants to he has like a complex or he realised he is too obsessed so he decided to back off when he went to uni...
I think both have this kind of possessive love for each other but don't know how to handle it.
