When you've been abused for a long time like he was, even the memories of your abuser and what they did to you can make you scared. He's obviously super traumatised, and the snake is threatening hi even now, so of course he's scared. It's not that easy to just leave.

That was in the past right? When he's in love with that snake, but now is different, so what's the point of him for being scared and just do as that snake say? Isn't it okay if his rely on his BF and run away?
