Nakyum's hair

I just noticed while everyone supposed to have long hair in that era, Nakyum has short hair. I don't remember anyone having short hair in historical dramas. Is that normal?

Cutting your hair was looked down upon back then because they viewed hair as a gift from your parents and ancestors.
