You should watch “The poem of the wind and the trees” movie. It is considered the first bl (yaoi). The manga came out in 1976 and the movie in the 80s I think.

the anime is not technically a bl. but some viewers do consider it a bl since there r interactions between two men. personally, I don't consider it a bl since it was not the intention/plot of the anime. i think it would fit more into the action/psychological genre. but I mean it rly depends on how u view the anime
