i mean it was just bad timing for both the people involved at the time. maomao's mom betted on her losing enough value for him to "afford" her by losing her virginity, and he suddenly got deployed to the middle of nowhere that lasted 3 years, after which the granny refused to let him see fon shen. if he hadn't been deployed that would've worked out great, or even if it was according to plan he'd be back within 6 months and still could've redeemed her before she finished her pregnancy.
yeah, also she was hella stubborn on sending him a letter. is she just sent him a letter he would’ve came right back, but also Rakan should’ve kept track of his time..... he honestly half-heartily forgot.........
