Oh if your confused how they met. They actually met through her grandpa on her mother’s side. The old person seen in chapter 13, so anyway, it was a marriage interview and of course our 2 protagonist didn’t want to get married but he got interested in her as a friend which develop to what you see now lolllllllll.
Omg hahahahaha i get why people are complaining, if I hadn’t read the novel then I wouldn’t declare I’m in love with her but I am lol. Xiaye is such a calm protagonist, she actually thinks! Well sometimes she don’t but that’s probably emotions and external forces.
Just to clarify, most of the scene depicted here happens probably days, weeks, or even months after the last scene. In the novel they wouldn’t find out about her being married till that dinner scene, but I vaguely remember if it was weeks after or days after but some time had already passed. If I remember correctly they wouldn’t even know hadn’t Mu Yuchen declared it because my girl Xiaye is so lowkey. She likes her life to be peaceful actually both of them does, which is so refreshing. I’ve never had a chinese novel like this (ceo and stuff) that actually keeps it private within the family, I’m chinese so I should know that most chinese like lowkey, they want a humble daughter in law with no issues because of family honor.
Anyway, I believe that the manhua struggles to prortrait what actually happened which is sad because it’s actually a good story. If it weren’t for the length of the novel I would have finished it lol.
