this is exactly how i felt. i’m pretty opened minded so i wasn’t bothered by the age since it’s not THAT bad, but i’m glad that they waited til he turned 20.

Ok... I’m a be honest. The first time I read this i felt weird and didn’t really like chase and Joel being together. It felt icky because Joel was a bad father and it just didn’t feel right. But after a second read, I think I understand better the dynamic and it feels perfect the way it is. Joel tried to understand his feelings and stopped seeing chase as a child (which he isn’t since he was 19) and finally seeing him romantically. And it didn’t feel gross since the author took the time to sort out their feelings. And I think the family dynamic they have going on at the end works really well for them. This gets 10/10 stars from me and is definitely one of my favorite BLs to read since it’s funny and the couples all are respectful and there is CONSENT!!!! I’m happy and don’t see anything wrong with Joel and Chase’s relationship in the end.
