I don’t think Ryan loved his sister romantically but I think he really cared for her and wanted to keep her safe and all that. Like even though she was only a half sibling that was still his sister so he wanted to look after her.

Then she died and he wasn’t even there for her. He was probably carrying that guilt the whole time which is probably why he continued the research on the serum when she died.

Then hop along a few years, generations whatever, and here’s little Christoph that reminds Ryan of his sister that he cared for so much. So Ryan begins to look after him the way he felt he should’ve for his sister. Christoph was like Ryan’s surrogate sister who also needed to be looked after just like her;;

idk it’s a little messy with how old Ryan is and his character and background not being completely explored, but I think it was just a really strong familial bond that Ryan had for Christoph

OMG, thank you, I really needed to hear this, I was so sad because Ryan died and Christoph's memory was wiped out and then found out the feeling he had for Christoph was just because he resembles his sister (??) I don't know how to express my feelings. I mean if that really happened in real life for me, I would be so sad because knowing that they only like you because your appearance looks like someone they loved, like, the feeling is not pure (?). Poor Christoph, he deserves better, I wish I didn't read that chapter, my heart is aching, now I'm a mess because of it, I don't know if Ryan really had loved Christoph or not, maybe not....hah...why I am doing this to myself

I think he really loved his sister, the way he looked at her...the gesture too. It makes my heart ached, such a sad love story, you can even feel the sadness in his eyes when he look at her...I hope I just over-analyzing things because this just makes me even more upset

The main reason I feel like it wasn’t a romantic love was because Ryan never acted on any romantic feelings with Christoph even though Christoph was with him for however many years before Ryan left him in Sihan’s care.

The most they ever got was hair ruffles and forehead kisses. And I’m betting Ryan knew that Christoph wouldn’t have even questioned him if Ryan pursued a romance with him. But they never crossed that line (no kisses on the lips or declarations of love or whatever), and if they did it wasn’t shown to us.

So I just think it was a really strong familial bond. Where Ryan is the older brother Christoph wanted and never got, and Christoph is like a second chance at protecting his dead sister for Ryan.

However tbh I’d be heartbroken if they loved each other romantically and this bittersweet ending was what they got

Like I guess it’s nice that Christoph won’t get to mourn Ryan since he’d probably go zero or something but like «did Ryan really have to drink the wine that night, author??»
