i think Furuya is the main character here and not Eijun sawamura. i figured it out now that hes's a shadow of furuya in order to make furuya get stonger. eijun sawamura is just a supporting character here as well as the other characters they serve their purpose on making furuya shine than any other character. well truth be told furuya is 100 times stronger than eijun ever was after all. i doubt that sawamura will ever get stonger than that having his breaking ball sure is the end of the story for him and having 154 speed of fast ball made furuya shine his brightest and get stonger even. so for sawamura fans out there sorry for your luck... eijuns role of making furuya stonger is finished. he scrwed up all the time anyway and furuya makes very little mistakes. so coach youre ryt at giving furuya the ace... Eijun sawamura can stick to his number 18 no way is he going to catch up with furuya in terms of batting fielding especially pitching :) RESULTS ARE IMPORTANT AFTER ALL...

You mean Ace not main character. Eijun is the main character; yes I agree with you though, Furuya is the stronger pitcher plus he can bat. But who knows where the story will go.

but furuya only has speed and his control so lame ...
    eijun still better than him..

how come eijun is the main character while furuya stands out? it should be the other way around ryt

Eijun also has more experience with extreme stress in games. Eijun still struggles with control as well. I'm still rooting for Eijun though.

It's not something i can explain very well. lol But the mangaka created Eijun as the main character. Eijun and furuya are a little similar to the character's in Haikyuu. The main character(Hinata) is weaker than his teammate rival Kageyama. Being stronger than someone has nothing to do with it.

Well not necessarily weaker, Hinata just struggles a little more with some things. It's part of being human and growing stronger.

i guess youre right when it comes to important games and relays hes much more reliable than furuya, just like in the manga they lost the nationals because furuya made a major slip up

yes, being the best does not correlate with being the main character, I'd even go so far as to say usually the underdog is the main character! Because people tend to always want to root for the underdog :)

Furuya just has speed... but as an Ace... I think he not good enough... even though I like all the characters in this manga... still I rooting for Sawamura!!!! I really love how he try so hard to fight with his emotions and fear!!! ヾ(☆▽☆)

Well, I think this manga reminded me of Slam Dunk in which the rivals of the protagonists stand out more than the protagonists. I just wish in the act II, sawamura will be the ace. ( ̄へ ̄)

yeah, I really hope so if it was not going to happen I really will hunt the sensei for being so mean toward Sawamura. Make him work so hard and tortured his soul then let Furuya take all the fame and attention. Sorry for being so dramatic... Just the flow of this story making me thinking when the sensei will let Sawamura be the main attention and let him wearing the number one jersey. Do we need to wait for a couple of years for this stuff to be happening... (/TДT)/

yeah. I know sports manga is about hardship, efforts, etc., but, if in the end he won't become the ace, why did I read the act II, then. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
I just hope when he becomes the ace, it will not only in the last chapter of the story since many manga do that kind of ending. I mean, I want to see him act as an ace, being treated as an ace, etc. from the middle of story to the end. XD
