You said it really well. Thats why Lise wants to stop them, since neither of them wants to kill, but both of them are forced into killing eachother, even if they do not want to. And neither of them will be happy ever after killing the other one. To top it off, it may have been resolved with milder mishappenings, if Marians family apologised at least. But no bitch, they think it is reasonable if they kill someone for not being loved themselves. Like what kind of logic is that. His sister Marian was a complete stalker for the emperor, but he never hurt her, even if she tought that she was negleted, she had everything exept his heart. She had no right to destroy their happy life. She was just a homewrecker(sorry dunno how its written). And then every resposibility falls on Mil and Linden like why the hell? Torturing them like this should have been named a crime. Also the aristocrats fraction is a joke. They never heard of gratitue. Talking about killing Lise as if she never saved them or their family members.

I'm not writing this to argue with anyone but like yall need to give Linden's revenge some thought and think abt who suffered more from this terrible revenge battle. TO begin with, Linden has no one except for Elise and his dad. Mil, on the other hand, has his whole maternal side INCLUDING his mother. If we look at the root of the problem, It was Mil's mom Consort Marian. She started this whole BS and framed Linden's mother and sister for heinous crimes. Linden had to witness his mother and sister commit suicide. In the blink of an eye, the guy lost half his family. It's very rational for him to want revenge for the crimes that Consort Marian committed. Now let's look at Mil. Mil probably grew up without maternal affection (according to wt his mother was like). The guy was just trained to get revenge. Mil is constantly pressured by the damn aristocrats to plan Linden's death. He has sympathy towards his mother, but it looks like the revenge is rather a duty than emotional vengeance (unlike Linden's case). Honestly, how TF did Marian even lose her mind. Karma's a real bitch ig. Anyway, the main idea is that though both princes share a similar burden towards revenge, Linden's reasoning is more depressing. Even if Linden had managed to complete his revenge, he'd start mourning Mil instead so he'd never be free from the sadness of losing a loved one. Sry this is long yall. I kinda got emotional for ma bois. ALSO, yall aristocrats better get yo crusty dusty hands off my baby Lise or yall gonna get it in the ass, u hear? (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸
