The brother was in love with the deer, who also liked him (but both thought it was unrequited). But the brother died because of a political feud (looks like he was poisoned?) and the deer didn't know.
When he finds out the deer thinks it's his fault because he thinks he's cursed/has bad luck and then the MC tells him he's wrong and they go chu~ and that's the end.
The brother committed suicide.
