The manga went on hiatus in late May 2018 following the controversy surrounding the author. It returned from hiatus on August 22, 2018.
The light novel and anime adaptation were the only things that were cancelled indefinitely. The manga continues.
Well here goes, this series was canceled because a country I can't name, was offended due to the ln's backstory for the mc. Anime News Network has an article about it but this site won't let me post the link.
