in the novel, they died. which is much more realistic because they are toxic af. I wouldn't want them to end up together tbh.

So the fmc is demoted by the mc and she leaves to live in the small town after having her power taken . The mc on occasion goes and sees her secretly . Then when she was traveling she was ambushed by bandits led by the maid that was promoted earlier in the series. All her maids are killed and she gets her legs set on fire she’s saved by a random guy . Mc thinks she’s dead and falls into despair eventually expelling the dowagers puppet princess and he then finds out she’s still alive and finds her and ends up remarrying her , giving up the throne to his brother and living with the fmc in a hut and they have kids .
