Also extra info: the twins trust no one. I mean it, they only believe in each other and have never tried opening up to NO ONE (before the conversation with Lloyd). So... seeing them interacting with ppl here is the most absurd concept to bring into the plotline. Their feelings and actions aren't inconsistent in the novel, they make sure to remind everyone just how hurt they are and how much they are to blame as well.
Thank you very much! This is very helpful since it is very confusing ╥﹏╥
And yes the problem is that they focused more on the drama rather than introducing the characters first. Now it looks like most of the characters are dumb decision making. Since there is no impression or somewhat like an attachment of the characters to the readers, most of the readers are dropping this.
I'm just happy I can help! I myself was very confused as well, that's why I picked up the novel in the first place hehe.
And well I can completely understand where they're coming from, I was very close to dropping it was well. It felt incoherent, and the plot itself felt rushed and inconsistent as well. It's sad the manhwa author/artist decided to change so much regarding the characters and even the plotline... ╥﹏╥ I wonder why did the original author let them...
The story is great imo, nothing outstanding so far (first few chapters) but it's still really really good and I liked seeing the abuse issue actually addressed by everyone involved.
I read it here: https://wuxiaworld.site/novel/the-twin-siblings-new-life/
(the translation is good enough to be read, some parts are harder to but it should still be fine!)
i found this site to read the novel if you want it: https://noveltrench.com/manga/the-twin-siblings-new-life/chapter-1/
It becomes spoiler-ish, so please read at your own discretion.
I read what's available of the novel translated a few days ago (around 40 chapters). And I finally understand why there are so many discrepancies in the manhwa and why it's even awkward at times. Let us begin.
First of all, the manhwa author/artist added WAY too many characters here. There are simply too many characters that don't appear in the novel. The whole nobles gathering, the Duke of Rosia, Riolu (sorry if it isn't his name), and else... they simply don't exist (or at least they shouldn't exist at this point in the timeline). They were probably added to add drama but... it was badly handled. The kidnapping does happen, but it wasn't a big deal...
Second of all, Isabella WAS actually killed back when the twins' room was completely destroyed. She had already made a mistake in the past with the third prince, so the king had actually warned her that if she ever made another mistake with his children she'd be killed. The twins aren't attached to her at all nor consider her someone important, so they don't mind as much once she's gone.
NO EMPRESS, I have to emphasize this because it was honestly shocking just HOW MUCH it's been changed. Not ONCE was the empress brought up in the novel (up until where I read). No mention of her from no one really, much less Isabella or the princes. The twins know nothing of the empress, only that the king gave up his guardian maybe. The twins don't care either.
Continuing, there are many IMPORTANT conversations and discussions badly handled here. Conversations between the twins and the princes or the king that... simply weren't shown here. And not only that, many conversations that DO appear were drastically changed. For example, the twins have a deep conversation with Lloyd, the first prince, and they actually start feeling comfortable with him. He's the first person to actually apologize to them, tell them what happened on their side, and let them DECIDE for themselves (A TURNING POINT FOR THE TWINS IN THE NOVEL IMO). Then, they have an important conversation with the king... that was changed to the second prince (he doesn't have such a big role in the novel... it's actually Lloyd who has the most important interactions...). And well, I'm greatly disappointed by this.
There's more but this is quite enough honestly. I'm unsure if the novel was maybe rebooted??? Or if the translation was lacking in any way... but even then, it's too much of a change to simply be a mistake... I have no idea why it differs this much. I hope you enjoyed this and I apologize for any mistakes (English isn't my first language) ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
