personally the story gave me such a sense of finality early on, like we see the so called “outcome” after haesoo and jowoon had their official talk ab how they shouldn’t do this anymore, that gave me satisfaction bc i believe that it was what they needed yk?
but for them to deviate from that after like 3 high school flashbacks and jowoon stating a principal all of us commonly learn in grade school?? (i should’ve been responsible for my actions) it just wasn’t enough to convince me of anything at all.
i think the characters are weak in all honesty, not weak minded but just their structure, haesoo is genuinely unlikable imo. ofc this is just my analysis of the story but it just wasn’t the greatest
like i wanted something fresh something new where we see someone break away from the stereotype and the toxicity that is quite often expressed in bl! i wanted haesoo to discover more of himself, find his own happiness outside of jowoon.
in my opinion taku is the best character in this manhwa when it comes to development. he truly was an asshole at the beginning of the manhwa, which is stated in this chapter, but we see him change, we see him become capable of loving someone and i think that’s awesome.
it’s just frustrating to me that this story had so much potential to do something new but it just didn’t
sorry if it’s long but that’s how i feel :)

Very well written. I can see where your thoughts and frustrations lie with the story. Although I do not agree with some of the issues you laid out, it was very refreshing to read a well thought out response in this comment section. I look forward to seeing your larger analysis at the end of the series.

I believe that "breaking free from toxicity" aspect can be done without ending everything with the person you love. Even if was not convicing for you, Joowon and Haesoo did change their views of their relationship while being apart from each other, they understood what they did wrong and realize that, besides being people that caused so much pain to the other, they are also someone who can bring happiness.
But I agree with you that this season lost its focus because the "main couple" interact far less than Haesoo and Taku. I see this as the author favoritism since almost all the story was like this. Haesoo's feelings for Joowon never left the story while he was deciding what exactly was their relationships and feelings, but these moments almost were never told between them. They were told throughout Taku and Haesoo's attepemts to distance himself. I think that the author did have a concept of telling a love/hate dynamic (which was best explained in S1) but it blended into the background as the story progressed. That's why I not surprissed to people who didn't see this outcome, at some point I also didn't.
I personally like Joowon's character more because he went from someone egocentric and coward to a man who will do things correctly because he always loved Haesoo. Taku's story, for me, it's just him having feelings for the first time in his life but being unwilling to change his selfish points of view. He didn't want to change that despite everything. Him begging for a chance knowing damn well that Haesoo didn't love him was awful, he didn't want to lose to Joowon and that's plain asshole motives. Okay, he did wanted to have more later on but Taku deeply knew that Haesoo wasn't his, then he goes complaning that he is going to be left out lol No, it's was just so boring to me. I don't like how Taku never stopped comparing their boyfriends with candy, which would've been a great anology.
As for Haesoo... Yeah, sometimes it feels like he doesn't deserve all the things Joowon and Taku did for him lol I do like him tho.
I would've also preferred another outcome since that car accident did make their reconciliation faster. Which was wack :/

yes i understand what you’re saying completely! it just felt so... elementary. like you were scared to tell him and you couldn’t take responsibilities for your actions?? alr i guess
this story as a whole just didn’t do it for me, i’d say it was a great idea with poor execution. but i’m glad so many people enjoy it and i never want my words to take anything away from that
ugh, i’m gonna do my whole ranting paragraph at the end of the manhwa but right now i’m just disappointed lol.
i’m also disappointed in the fandom but not surprised. i’ve seen a lot of comments saying “it’s yaoi what did you expect” idk maybe a better story, it’s just it deviated from the original plot so much that it just doesn’t make much sense
again i’m not saying this as someone who “stans” taku, i’m saying this from a readers standpoint. i’m rly upset with how the plot just flip flopped after like 2 flashbacks aha but yeah, that’s my take
