I am surprised you hit most of the thing right here...
I cant imagine myself living the lives of women in the past...even now I witness women being treated less in my community. It is a horrible feeling...how about the women that were bounded to duties they didn't want...must have been horrid
but she could have also been suffering from postpartum depression as well, add to that a young age, 17 is young to have your first child, and you have yourself a mix for a horrible mental breakdown.
