This is shockingly twisted. Let's forget about the fact that a school like that would have some serious lawsuit against them. This is just rape, there is no "love" or real feeling between them. It's just rape after rape, blackmail etc. Although the drawings are beautiful, and the characters interesting, it is so twisted, it disgusts me. With the second couple I thought there was going to be something less hardcore, but no, it's even more horrible. I think it is scary to see how high rated this manga is beacause it's just violent sexual abuse.

I hear you--but I think there is just a little more to it (though not a "love story"). I really like Azusa's character, flawed as he is. It may never pay off in future chapters, but I am still cheering for him. I also want to know Karino's backstory. It won't excuse anything, but it may explain some things. It will never be a real romance and the suddenly fluffy raw doesn't seem to ring true for me, but there is something in this story about social rank and how people play each other. I am not a fan of abuse, but I want to see what happens.

But the idea behind this manga is really beautiful. You should focus more on the big picture than the details. It shows a system,a social system created by people themselves. The caste inside the school is a mini version or the caste outside it,society. It doesn't matter how powerful you are (karino as the king) you can't go against the rules, the only king is the system. Remember the scene at karino's house,he didn't even want to see azusa, because the "king" should have no contacts with the "target" but in that case,it was real life(like azusa said if he filmed karino he could have ruined them both, why? because it's against the rules of society, doesn't matter who you are). You should see karino and azusa as ideas of the top and bottom of society. In the end, I myself, wanted to see them as a happy couple, but the truth is that they are the sons of that system. It's in their blood, it's in their nature to behave according to the rules of it...and even love according to the rules. You can't change it,you can only play with it.
You know,at the beginning when I saw azusa's life I wanted someone to help him,why not the king himself?Isn't he supposed to be powerful? But who made Karino the King? The system (inside and outside the school) in the end,it was always about the caste.

Great insight! We don't get to choose what role/s to play, society dictates our actions.

I agree that it gives a good depiction of how society is, the you still choose to rape someone, in my opinion, and this society surely doesn't force you to do so. Thank you for your replies (⌒▽⌒)

I can't really speak for other readers, but personally,I don't view this manga as a love/relationship whatever story. I view it the way I view the lord of the flies- a depicting of society represented by the least likely demographic. Safe to say, I'm waiting for the chapter when the victim fights back =)
