For example: with darker manhwa you see the intentions of the author from the start. The actions of the characters aren’t meant to be romanticized, but in this it doesn’t put up that front from the start. It’s sort of like false advertising? Because it didn’t bring in the audience that gravitates towards this current storyline.
I feel like if this manhwa had the same intentions as darker bl it would have some sort of warning, but this seems to be sort of thrown in suddenly? If the targeted audience of the manhwa would be viewers who read noncon it would suggest that somewhere. A reason why a lot of readers are disappointed in the characters is because the manhwa doesn’t show that intention from the start. Not sure how the author will pull a happy ending from here, or even if they will.
