omg what. REALLY. REALLY?!?!??! i have to go reread that scene now
oh my god joowon sweetie ;___; he is easily the least selfish manipulative, and most redeeming character in this story. he's always taking hit after hit for haesoo. he just develops so wonderfully losing all his arrogance in thinking 'haesoo would never leave him' and just matures SO MUCH out of all of them. definitely superior.

The whole “if your heartbroken just say goodbye” is an idealistic response which I know half of us wouldn’t give ( ̄へ ̄)It’s messy and real that’s what I liked about taku so much. I know I wouldn’t wish somebody who I was involved like he was with haesoo(not in a toxic way of course) a happy life with a new partner they’d dump me for. And if you say you could blissfully wish somebody a happy relationship for someone they DUMPED you for your lying.

My take on it: His character has been consistently conniving, selfish, competitive and vindictive throughout and until the end of the story. There’s absolutely nothing praiseworthy about any of his behaviors or thoughts. His words in the breakup scene aren’t meant to be what the average person would say, they’re meant to highlight his overall character for the reader.

We’re all human our emotions don’t follow the logical rules we set up. If you and someone you had an interest did a test trial relationship and they wounded up with their rebound BUT you liked them anyway you would still like them right? Taku seemed more human to me because he was so messy and real. I’d def would’ve said what he said to haesoo if I was in his shoes.

Taku's action feels real i agree. cause manipulative people are also real lol. being "realistic" doesnt suddenly make him right to do that. Joowon is also a realistic character and he deserves a hug through that whole breakup. Cant say the same for Taku.
Ofc he doesnt need to wish Haesoo a "happy life". He just needed to leave without emotionally manipulating him. I think many taku stans online are watering down this situation as if it's merely about him being dumped by Haesoo. You do realize this is a relationship that he *willingly* entered knowing Haesoo's true feelings. He was never led on, and constantly persisted Haesoo, and said he wants them to use each other. He made a pact with HS that they wont have hard feelings at the end, and he agreed to the 1 month time limit. Yet Taku is the one that broke the pact lol.
In a situation like this, if you can't walk away from a mess you created yourself, without guilt-tripping the other party so much, then idk.... you should probably try to FIX that behavior --> If Taku was in a relationship with Haesoo where he was dumped unfairly, or if he was led on, or if he was actually a "victim" of some sort here, I would accept his reaction ten times more from him lol

Excuses where none are warranted. They’re not real people, and the action we see is meant to be insight to character. Author took some pains to show you that he was not even in love- why do you think he’s still equating Haesoo with candy that’s just out of reach, or that he still wants to capture him on camera. Petulant, spoiled, finally not getting something you desire in a passing fancy does not equal love.
The most infuriating part about all this is.... how selfish and horrible Taku is to Haesoo
- AS SEEN IN CHAPTER 99.
Like let's compare Taku with Joowon as they both separated from Haesoo. When Joowon and Haesoo had their big fallout/basically "breakup" in chapter 57, Haesoo said hurtful things to Joowon. But Joowon NEVER said cruel things back. (Edit: I literally thought he said the line "don't think of seeing me ever again" to haesoo at first, which was a little harsh but nothing in comparison to Haesoo's words. But turns out, it was also freaking HAESOO WHO SAID THAT. JOOWON SAID NOTHING SPITEFUL TO HIM AT ALL). Instead Joowon was all like, "if I give everything up, can we start over?", ready to give it all up for this man thats breaking his heart. Joowon even called Haesoo a few days later, and told him how he'll always support him, and be by his side even if it's just as a brother/friend, and told Haesoo "I'm just all yours". Like Haesoo hurt you so much my dude. Told you he didn't love you, called your bond of 10 WHOLE YEARS wrong, said he was sick of losing things cause of you/your relationship... and you still show unconditional support for him? Idk if Joowon is selfless or stupid when it comes to Haesoo (perhaps both), but i love him ;A;
Taku meanwhile was literally the OPPOSITE. During his break up, Haesoo was actually very kind to him, letting him down gently. No hurtful words unlike with Joowon. Haesoo apologized a lot (unlike with Joowon), probably feeling guilty cause he tried to return Taku's feelings and ultimately couldn't. The thing is though, Haesoo doesnt even have an OBLIGATION to return Taku's feelings. Taku established from day one that they should "use" each other, and that this was a 1 month TRIAL relationship. Taku was the one endlessly persisting Haesoo despite being warned, and agreed to everything between them. So like all these things considered, leading up to their breakup: what the hell does Taku do? ....... Tell Haesoo that he hopes he suffers cause of him, and that Haesoo regrets letting him go and blah blah blah more manipulative shit! All cause this man couldn't like you back in a month,, youre making him feel WORSE after he apologized??? Like ofc Taku didn't need to wish happiness for Haesoo or support him. But Taku. Even if youre so heartbroken, just say goodbye and walk away??? Instead he says all these horrible things, that Haesoo most definitely DID NOT DESERVE to hear.
Infuriating. Even more infuriating when you compare Joowon's position back in the story with Taku's. Like you'd really need to jump through hoops to think Taku is the better choice instead of Joowon at this point.
