Jaime, we didn’t see enough of him, had feelings for her that grew over time in the two years since his wife’s passing. He found out about Benedict and, instead of outright making a move decided to bring Benedict into the equation and took a risk; see if she was over Benedict and felt something for Jaime or not. I mean, he screwed himself because it seemed like she didn’t mind the idea of Jaime but at least this didn’t mean that she wind up with Jaime for bit only for Verity to leave him in a lurch for Benedict. The little girl is cute, Jaime is a good egg if a bit dim in the game of risk, that it. Two characters, neither main, are the only good ones.
