I agree, the only excuse I can think of is that she is still shocked from the loss of Sophie (the maid i think) and her cousins deception. So her confidence is shot atm

I think it's because of what happened in her previous life. I mean she has already been cheated on by her husband once, and then got killed by him. Not that unreasonable that it's a touchy subject for her
