maybe he holds some kind of affection for her but he doesn't love her fully, seems to me he doesn't love anybody but himself, making excuses about why he couldn't go back to the mother, accusing of her of probably marrying another man when he was the only one that did that (marrying another woman and having other kids). he would have never looked for blondina if it wasn't by chance she gave that seller the ring, hes a shitty person even if he wasn't outright mean to her
