It still doesn't change the fact that in the long run Jonggu was goin' to be Euncheol's final decision. Whether he forgives Jonggu after all is said and done is up to the creator of the story. Ya'll are quick to forget a lot of shit whenever a more "appealing" prospect comes along just 'cause somethin' makes ya'll a lil uncomf. There are a LOT of stories about creatures/monsters/beasts becomin' human for the one they love so it's not an uncommon trope.
And I wouldn't say Jonggu thinks in a simplistic way-- he's still territorial like an animal yeah but with every interaction with Euncheol or other human beings he is learning and adapting. That was the whole part of the Dog God turnin' dogs into humans in the first place. He was grantin' their wishes but not makin' the changes permanent till they knew for sure it was what they wanted in the end. Jonggu has the ability to think on a more sentient and complicated level which is how he is able to learn so quickly.
Ya'll are just mad 'cause they gave us some sort of sob story for the red head about he's a middle child and never got what he wanted and now everyone wants him to have his way no matter what. He was created to cause this sort of rift between Euncheol and Jonggu-- he was never made to win in the long run which is why we were given the backstory in the first place. He still thinks in very, very limited way in comparison to human's way of thinking. It would take years to adapt to such level.
I don't hate the story or anything. It's your typical, adorable, simple BL story with unfortunately some dub-con plus a bit awkward theme with pet turned human. I have more problems with comments trying to portray "rival" in bad light because he is in the way of main ship and making billion assumptions about other readers.
the red head. I get it, he's had a sad past and blah blah blah, but all in all I don't see him bein' someone good for Euncheol. He reminds me too much of some of the guys Euncheol has dated in the past and I can't see it endin' well. At least with Jonggu he knows what Euncheol likes and has witnessed what is right and what is wrong firsthand. He's got a jealous streak in him but that's part of his process of turnin' into a human.
