When a webtoon original gets finished, webtoon makes starting episodes free and locks all others in daily pass. You can read 1/2/3(depends) episodes everyday with that comic's daily pass. If you wish to read further the same day, you need to spend coins.
It is done so that the creator can keep earning from their work.
