I agree, and yeah of course if it was REAL it would be a whole different thing entirely. In fiction, it just adds flavor ╮(￣▽￣)╭ but besides that, the author most likely will slowly resolve everything (because sometimes there's just too much trauma), well at least in some scenarios (in a lot of things like these, they just get progressively worst all the way until the ending, or its like a winding road.
