(Sorry for the ramble) The official host/real Getou is dead. If you read the tokyo school which sadly isn't uploaded all the way. Getou died, Yuuta killed him. If you remember before the prison realm digested Gojou he asked if Suguru (Getou) was going to let the brain really control him. Getou grabbed his face in response, obviously he's there. The real Getou is still somewhere there. They need to exorcise the brain that has taken over Getou. Hopefully then letting him rest or officially come back to life. Gojou just wants to know why Getou did what he did. Aka flying off the rails and spiraling into the way he was before he died. And probably why he never came to Gojou. They were each others grounding system. They were the only ones where they could be seen on equal ground. After all Gojou is the strongest, and often people admire that about him. Therefore Getou really only saw him, for him. Him being Gojou without all the fancy the strongest. Although he does recognise that he was no longer the strongest with Goujou. He being Getou. This is when Goujou noticed he was getting thinner and that we really got to see inside Getou's thoughts.

if itadori defeats geto, which is honestly very unlikely, it will show how powerful and independent he is. but i want this man to rest like dude go ahead and head down to the nearest motel and sleep for a few years bro
if goto defeats geto, they go WAY back so that would be handling old beef. they were friends before geto became... what he is today.... so for goto to get into the mix would be f-cking amazing. we already know that goto left his cage, now we just gotta wait a few more weeks. (let’s be real here; i think that was geto plan all along)
