I mean in this chapter he himself says that he isn't that sure if he likes the uke so...
That’s what also comes off as suspicious to me. In the beginning he was so forceful with his declarations about how he will love the uke. To say it like that sounds off to me. Wouldn’t you normally say “I like you and I want to make you like me too”, or something similar? He picked him up from the streets, more or less forced cohabitation (which is a weird thing to do for someone you will maybe love later but not now) . And then just seems to cool towards the uke, and doesn’t do anything to actually get emotionally closer to him. He sits back, continues on with his life like he didn’t make any bold declarations towards the uke, which would confuse the other person and of course they would ask what’s going on. I see this as manipulation by the seme. His reaction to the uke asking why he doesn’t make a move is to turn it around in the uke. Which to me looks like a power play where the seme doesn’t have to admit to anything (not even lust towards uke), and can actually play the “you wanted it, I just oblige” card. Which again fits with the theme of his weird declaration that didn’t really involve a confession. He emotionally tortures him after that with this little (let’s watch my movie fucking my co star and reenact this in real time). This is vile especially to someone who’s self esteem is already torn down. The fake “I love you” is said in tandem with his porn movie dialogue, and obviously whispered into the Uke’s ears on purpose. Seme knows it’s not true, and he knows Uke must know this. But he seems to want to make him fall anyways while still treating him like this. Looks like revenge of some kind to me honestly. So what I think would happen after the uke confesses, is the seme rejecting him and telling him that he never made any promises and that he didn’t come to love him after all. Like “my bad, see you!” Seme didn’t admit to anything that would suggest emotional vulnerability towards uke. He could easily tell him that he only had sex because the uke complained, and that the porn reenactment dialogue was just that. A reenactment. I don’t know, he just comes off as fake with everything in regards to uke. As he also has always this smarmy and self satisfied expression on his face, or those panels where we see his grin or “scheming” looks while the other is unaware. This is an interesting plot and all but I just don’t believe the seme likes the uke as much as he tries to convince him of. He grabbed the Uke from the streets, the latter clearly heartbroken and depressed, proceeds to have sex with him and then more or less forced the idea on him to live together. Uke just goes along with it because, why not. But I think there is a huge discrepancy going on in regards to what the seme tells him, and what he actually does. Seme tells uke he will love him, and I get the feeling he wants to build up the Uke‘s self confidence and trust just to later shatter it again. But how does he think this would work, if he more or less treated him like a roommate until the Uke low key complained to him about apparently being satisfied by his porn trysts and not wanting to have sex with him because of this? How can the seme expect him to trust a man who is a porn actor, a straight one at that, who still nonchalantly goes ahead with his career without seemingly giving a thought of what this could do to the uke if the seme succeeds in making him fall for him? Why would the seme think that forcing the uke to watch his porn movie while proceeding to re-enact the same scene with him, would lead the uke to trust him? Isn’t he aware that this would hurt him emotionally? And what is with this „ I love you“? It really looks like the seme is rubbing salt into the Uke‘s wound with that shtick . I don’t know, I get the feeling the seme Must have really hated the uke in Highschool or something. Then he finds his imaginary rival of old being down in the dumps and completely vulnerable. So what does he do? He tries to make him dependent on him while still hurting him. Seems like the seme read the „abuser manual“ or something.
