Well I would love to see more bl isekai manhua as well but don't forget that there are quite a few bl isekai novels where the male is thrown into a straight harem novel world and yet makes the male lead fall for him lol Does that make you shudder as well?Honestly It's just something that authors use, be it in a straight or bl novel... It's quite unrealistic as you mentioned (except if the characters where bi to begin with) but then again It's supposed to be a fictional world that was created by the novels author and the MC who gets in it kinda influences the story and always changes the course of events so why not even the genre? It's like the MC is a part time author, re making the plot lol At least that's how I preseve it (=・ω・=)
I don’t really get into those novels because they are , more often than not, not very well translated. Honestly that is a good question you asked and I have to confess that it’s doesn’t make me shudder in reverse. I just think it’s a Little unrealistic for the super straight playboy to suddenly pursue a guy. Or the most annoying trope of „everybody is gay for the male MC“. I think me being uncomfortable about a female MC being flung into a bl world and getting everybody to fall for her, probably comes from how in real life society dealt and Deals with homosexuality. This scenario just reminds me of the mindset of people who believe in conversion camps. So whenever I see media, in this case a webtoon that low key kind of says „see, he’s not really gay, just didn’t meet the right woman“, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Well I understand what you mean but still it's a bit biased... Cause at least in novel/manhuas it happens both ways and yet people usually only criticize the straight ones. Or how people sometimes are like "gay relationships are so much cuter and better that straight ones" which is totally fetishizing and stereotypical. Btw there is a really good one with a pretty good translation "Scum villain's self-saving system", if you are into system novels give it a try ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶!
My feelings towards this are certainly biased. Where I feel uncomfortable about a female MC making originally gay guys fall for her, I only feel annoyed in the reverse. There are many gripes I have with bl tropes in general, some which also make me uncomfortable. Like „rape to love“, or a super sadistic seme treating the uke like shit and the uke letting it slide because „LOVE“. Or the really annoying trope of the uke almost being raped by some rival of the seme, only for it to end up with the seme saving the uke and the rapist being told „the next time I won’t forgive you!!“ like seriously? Call the cops! And yes, I also hate how bl couples are often too fetishized by many. Especially this weird trope that the uke has to be smaller and almost girl like in many bl‘s. Worst offender imo is okane ga nai. I hate it as it has all the tropes I despise. Thank you for the suggestion. I will have to check out this novel. ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
Oh please. Y'all are so biased towards bl it's annoying. Bl fans can't stop commenting "wish this was a yaoi" under every good straight manga and it's so fetishistic.
It happens both ways in manhwa and i've never seen ppl criticize bl stories for doing that. Also if a "gay" guy falls for a girl he's not gay he's bi.

..who is not really keen on a female heroine being transmigrated into a bl novel? Always seems to me like a possibility is squandered, especially if the art is gorgeous. Or like the author is low key saying that the males Leads don’t have to be gay and just didn’t meet the right woman yet. Makes me shudder a bit. Why set it in a bl world anyways if it’s just straight romance in the end? I would love to finally read a bl transmigration story about a male MC who has to juggle through a bl game or novel world. And not a girl who has been transmigrated into it. It’s even worse if the female MC is transmigrated into a guy‘s body because the implications of what that would do to a persons psyche are just ignored and made to be a joke.
