Why? Is something wrong with that? They are only step siblings by paper. It's not like they're half siblings or anything cause that sibling died with Ran's mother and Yus' father. Yus and the original Ran first met at 10 years old, when their parents married. Not long after, Ran from our world's soul transferred to Novel Ran. After that, Yus was immidietly sent to the academy. They met years later at the funeral. If you think it thoroughly, they never had the time to even think of each other as siblings
Besides, its obvious Yus didn't even accept Ran and her mother as part of the family. And the same is for Ran — she had always thought of Yus as her 'child', or 'creation' as as she stated, she made the book.
For the first question, yes. Maybe it’s because I have step siblings myself but whenever I see a sibling ship either step or not I find it weird. I’m not saying that the points you’ve stated are bad but even so, if I see a ship that has to do with siblings I just find it weird. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
