That wasn't Beru but one of the ant soldiers from Beru's nest in Jeju. Beru is usually controlled and reliable enough to substitute Jinwoo whenever he was occupied.

I like how there’s parts where it’s genuinely adorable and funny moments, especially when it comes to the shadow knights doing their own things. Beru eating the monster’s body and jinwoo kicking him gave me a laugh(≧▽≦)
